Do you have a question? Hopefully the following will answer them for you.

Q: Do I need a reservation?
A: Yes.  Without a reservation there is no guarantee that there will be a paint station available for you.  If you are in the neighborhood at least 30 minutes before a class starts and would like to join, please stop in to see if there is availability.

**All online reservations require a credit card.   If you are a no show/no cancellation, the payment will not be refunded.  Please view the cancellation policy here.
**All payments for online reservations are processed at the time the reservation is made. If you have any questions, please contact us directly.

We do not accept checks
**If you are using a Voucher or Gift Certificate, you will still need to register on line, even if your voucher or Gift Certificate covers the entire cost of your class fee.  You will also need to bring it with you the day of your class – This is your admission to the class.  If you will be using a coupon, please bring the coupon to class and make your payment in person.

  • If you are using a gift certificate that you won during a previous class, use the Promo Code: Class Win.
  • If you are using a gift certificate that was purchased for you, there will be a code that must be entered in the Promo Code box.  Enter it exactly as it appears.
  • If you are using a voucher, you will need to enter the Voucher number in the Promo Box.  Do not use any spaces or dashes in the entry.
  • If you are using more than one promo code, You will need to make separate reservations.

Q: Can I pay with cash?
A:  Yes.  If you want to prepay with cash, check the class calendar to see when the studio is open.  You can arrive up to 30 minutes before a class begins, during the class or up to 30 minutes after class ends.  Reservations are required.  The cancellation policy still applies.

If you are using a gift certificate or voucher and have additional fees, you will need to pay them during your check out.
Q: What size is the canvas?
A: Sizes vary.

  • Adult single canvases are 16 x 20 inches.
  • We offer couples classes that use two 16 x 20 inches canvases.   This is intended to be painting by 2 people.  The class fee is noted per person.  1 person will paint the left side and one person will paint the right side.  (some paintings can be modified for a single person to paint the entire painting on one canvas.  be sure to ask if this option is available.
  • If a different sized canvas is going to be used it will be noted on the specified class
  • Triple canvas classes will use 10 X 12 inches or 8 X 10 inch canvases.
  • All sizes and the number of canvases will be listed on the information page for each painting if the class is more then a single canvas painting.
  • Guest Artist canvases vary in size.
  • Kidz paintings are on flat canvas boards size 11 X 14 inches.

 

Q: I have never painted before.  Will I be able to do this?
A: Yes.  The paintings will be labeled as beginner, beginner/intermediate, intermediate or advanced.  Beginner classes are designed for people that have never painted before. Beginner/intermediate classes have stencils for the harder portion on of the paintings

Q: I have never painted before and I want to take one of the intermediate classes.  Can I do this?
A: Yes.  All classes will have step-by-step instructions.  If you can draw simple shapes and mix colors (with detailed instructions) you should be OK in this class, however I do recommend that you try at least one or two beginner classes first.

Q: What are the prices for a class?
A: The prices vary from $25 to $90 (couples class – admission for 2)  and will be listed on every painting.  The price is determined by the complexity of the design, the size and/or number of canvases used for the class.
B: Typically, weekday classes and some Sunday classes are $35 while Friday and Saturday classes are generally $40-45.
C: Guest Artist classes are $35 – $50.  Check the painting for the class price.
D: Children’s classes are $20-25.

Q: Will my painting be ready to take home at the end of the class or will I have to come back to get it?
A: It will be ready to go home directly following the class.  If there are a few damp places, we have blow driers on hand.
B: If you use, puff paint, glitter or any other fabric paint, it will not be dry, but you will be able to take it home, if you have a flat surface for transportation. (These paints are optional to use).

Q: When are you open?
A: We are only open when we have a class scheduled. Please check our calendar for specifics.
B: Doors open 30 minutes prior to each class.

Q: What time should I arrive for class?
A: 15 to 20 would be plenty of lead time. 5 minutes would be cutting it close.  You will need to register, pick up your canvas, put on an apron, set up your work space including your snacks and drinks, and generally get settled in.
B: Larger should arrive at least 15 minutes early.

Q: Do you do reserved seating?
A: Yes and no. We will have seats reserved based on the size of your party. Please note that we usually get several groups of the same size and within that group, it will be first come, first served.
It is recommended that if you have a large party, you arrive 20 minutes before the class begins.
B: We will have special designated seats for people with a disability.

*If you have a large party (10 or more), you may want to arrive early to ensure that you sit together or schedule a private party (requires 20 people on a Friday or Saturday evening, 15 people on any other day or evening).

Q: Do we provide wine openers and cups?
A: Yes, we supply wine openers, cups and ice buckets but not the ice.  We have a limited supply of serving dishes and serving utensils; however you will need to supply your own paper plates, silverware and napkins.

Q: Can I buy food and drinks from Art in the Vine?
A: We do not sell any food or alcoholic beverages; however, we have a wide variety of soft drinks and water for sale.  Full sized containers sell for $1.00

Q: Can we bring food?
A: Absolutely!  Please remember that all food items and snacks must be cooked prior to attending class.  There are no cooking or warm-up facilities.  If your snacks need to be kept cool, please bring a cooler.

Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable clothes that you do not mind getting permanently stained. We use acrylic paint that may not come out of your clothes.  If notified, we can attempt to minimize the staining.  We have aprons, but they are only knee length and do not cover your arms.  Elbow length or shorter sleeves are recommended.

Q: Is there an age limit?
A: Yes.  Because of the social nature of our classes, Friday and Saturday evening classes,  have been designated as adults only.  Children under 18 are not allowed to attend these eveningsor be on premises.

Children under the age of 18 are welcome to come to our other classes.  There are limitations.

Please be aware that unless the Sunday class is noted as Family Friendly, there may be alcohol consumed. Children must be accompanied by an adult (over the age of 18) that will be participating in the same class.
Some Sundays will be designated family friendly with special pricing. For these classes, younger children – 12 and older can come to the studio to paint with a parent. Children under the age of 16 must always have a painting parent with them unless it is a kidz class or a teen class.  Children 16 and older do not need to have a parent present unless otherwise designated.  We reserve the right to request  identification, please have this available if requested. Q: Do you do private parties?
A: Yes, we can accommodate up to 45 people.  We can customize a party for you.  If you want to have a painting created for you, please call the studio. For more information, click here.

Q: If I want to lease your space without painting a canvas, can I do that?
A: Yes, you can rent the space without painting.  We are available for private parties any time that we do not have classes scheduled.  A staff member will be present.  Please contact us for more details.
